the capital, and noticed at once how English it feels. Lots of the
buildings are old and I felt as if I was back in the Cotswolds.

There are only 480,000 inhabitants
and many of the early "settlers" came from England - not

a 'Prison Town' because in the mid 19th century it had a population
of 2,200, and 1,200 of those were convicts, most of whom had been
transported from England.
