The following day we decided to catch the ferry over to Moorea, the neighbouring island, as we were a bit disappointed with Tahiti. You imagine Tahiti having beautiful white sandy beaches, but in reality it does not have many beaches and the one it has got has black sand!! Moorea on the other hand is less touristy and had lots of nice beaches.
All these islands are part of French Polynesia and the people either speak French or Tahitian, even the money is Polynesian Francs. They drive on the right side of the road and they even have French number plates on their cars.
