The Philippines is not the only place to suffer from storms. We sometimes have bad storms in the UK . Below are some photographs showing some of the damage and the ways weather can affect people's lives.
	1. Large parts of England and Wales were on flood alert.
	2. Stormy conditions closed Dover harbour and caused ferry delays.
	3. Maintenance workers cleared trees off railway lines.
	4. Many people had to abandon their homes and be rescued.
	5. While rain lashed much of the country - areas like Cumbria received heavy snowfall.
