You can include the following as part of your article:-

• an attention-grabbing headline
  
  
• a suitable picture (perhaps you could use one of the recommended web-sites to help you, but donÕt use any pictures that require permission to use them)
  
  
• an opening paragraph summarising what has happened
  
  
• some background information about the area
  
  
• some paragraphs giving more detailed information about what has happened, including some eyewitness accounts which can be written in a mixture of reported and direct speech
  
  
• a final paragraph discussing what you think the effects of this disaster might be in the future for the area and its people
