Australia 3

page 1

During Barrington's holiday in Australia, he was lucky enough to visit one of the most spectacular sites along the Great Ocean Road - called the 'Twelve Apostles'. these are huge lumps of limestone created by the action of waves and weathering. The photographs on the next page were taken at Loch Ard and Princetown. If you look in this month's photo album and scrapbook you can find more examples of coastlines showing the similar effects.

Now for your activity......

Imagine that you had the job of designing a page explaining to your friend about 'How rocks weather and erode' and how their shape changes with time.. Your 'Teaching Page' needs to include:

  • Photographs to show examples of what it is.
You can use any of the four on the next page or others from the photo album.
  • The photographs need to have good explanations
  • You might like to add sketches to explain the process
  • Your teacher might then have a discussion to see whose sheet is the best.
