Our first night in the 'hide' was quite something. First of all I had to lie on a solid wooden bunk bed with no mattress, then a huge rat the size of a beaver ran out. To cap it all, we had to drink the water from the stream which had to be purified with iodine....Ugh it was gross!!!
The following day while we were trekking I managed to pick up two leeches which were stuck to my legs in between the fur!! Because of all the heat and the humidity my fur is soaking wet and I am beginning to smell! I hope Serena soon decides to take me back to the hotel and give me a bath, but the hotel is a 6 hour treck - will we make it?
