grazing on the grasses of the Great Plains of North America.

known as the American buffalo.

by Native Americans for their flesh, bones and hides.

slaughtered by European settlers, in such great numbers that they
almost became extinct.

The tepee was
the typical dwelling of Native Americans living on the Great Plains.
It was made by arranging 12 tent poles into a conical frame and covering
it with about 12 buffalo (bison) hides.
